A Sacramento escape room has been named the top in the nation by USA Today.
Enchambered, at 2230 Arden Way, Suite C, in Arden-Arcade near Arden Fair Mall and Cal Expo, was ranked No. 1 on the list of the 10 best escape rooms in the United States, USA Today said.
“Whether you’re looking for a fun outing with friends or doing some team building, escape rooms are a great way to test your skills and have a blast at the same time,” the publication said.
A panel of editors and readers picked the list, which also includes three other California escape rooms.

Sacramento escape room tops list
Enchambered has five escape rooms “where teams of 3–12 people are locked into a custom-built, challenging and entertaining environments to solve the many mysteries, puzzles and challenges,” the business said.
The rooms are “fun for all ages” but children under 9 might find them confusing. No one under 16 is admitted without an adult.
Some of the rooms cater to suspense and horror fans, while others are more light-hearted. Private bookings for the escape rooms average $40 per person.
Enchambered is currently offering:
- The Collection, a 60-minute game for 4–8 players.
- Containment Breach, a “dark, fast-paced adventure” for 3–8 players for 60 minutes.
- The Whispering Halls 2, billed as a “supernatural mystery” for up to 10 players for 60 minutes.
- The Legend of the Skull Witch, a “dark” game for 3–8 players for 60 minutes.
- Trouble in the Toy Shop, billed as a “playful, family-friendly” room for 2–4 players for 60 minutes. It has been replaced by the Toyshop of Terror for October.
