The Washington Mystics second-year sensation Sonia Citron, of Eastchester, is headed to Berlin to compete for Workforce USA within the 2026 FIBA Girls’s Basketball World Cup.

Citron and her teammate Kiki Iriafen had been chosen to switch injured World Cup gold medalists A’ja Wilson and Kelsey Plum.

She beforehand participated within the Girls’s Nationwide Workforce Coaching Camp in December.

This will probably be her USA Basketball senior debut.

Citron provides this choice to a number of milestones she has reached in her younger WNBA profession.

Workforce USA open group performs in opposition to China Sept. 4, adopted by Italy on Sept. 6 and Czechia on Sept. 7.
