A Wilmington shipping container sandwich shop is now in a national article from USA TODAY. Mibby’s Deli was among those listed as the “best sandwiches in America are worth a road trip (or a detour).”

Matthew Byrne cures and smokes the meats for his sandwiches, which he serves at the onsite kitchen at End of Days Distillery at 1815 Castle St. The menu includes a classic pastrami and Reuben, but USA TODAY featured the Rachel, which is one of Byrne’s most popular sandwiches. It has house-brined and smoked peppered turkey, Swiss cheese, coleslaw, and “rushback” sauce on grilled sourdough.

Byrne started the business as a pop-up and arranged a long-term lease at the commercial kitchen at the end of 2025. Fans also recommend The Mibby, the Horsin’ Around with pastrami and caramelized onions, and the sides, especially the garlic potato salad.
