PORTLAND Ore. (KPTV) – Two Portland law enforcement officials went to a hospital Thursday morning after a person assaulted them throughout a camp clean-up in Northwest Portland, authorities stated.

Officers with the Portland Police Bureau’s Central Precinct Neighborhood Response Staff had been serving to metropolis employees with a clean-up close to Northwest Flanders Avenue and Northwest fifth Avenue round 10 a.m. when a person whose campsite was being cleared attacked them, in keeping with police.

Officers arrested the person, who was taken to a hospital for analysis after hurting himself following the arrest. Each officers had been handled for accidents that officers described as not life-threatening.

“At the start, I’m relieved to know each of our officers are going to be okay. They had been doing their jobs and sadly, they had been injured within the course of,” Police Chief Bob Day stated in a press release. “This incident is one other reminder that law enforcement officials can face sudden risks at any time.”
