Group USA faces Switzerland at 4 p.m. Saturday at BD Subject at Glen Farm, the final worldwide match of Newport Polo’s a hundred and fiftieth anniversary season.
The Swiss roster consists of Cedric Schweri, a two-time Gstaad winner and two-time Italian champion; Thomas Wolfensberger, a three-time Swiss champion; Philipp Müller, a former Swiss nationwide skeleton athlete; and Janik Noah Oertli, who gained the 2025 Swiss Medium Objective Championship and is making his first journey to the US. It’s Switzerland’s first look in Newport since 2021.
Gates open at midday, with distributors and exhibitions from 1 p.m. and the trophy presentation round 6, adopted by participant autographs.
The sideline theme for the Stella Artois Finest in Present competitors is an Alpine picnic — cheeses, charcuterie, knits and fall tailoring. Newport Kites will fly present kites over the grounds earlier than the match, climate allowing, together with an enormous horse. Surfside is sampling cocktails, with two Alpine-themed drinks on the bar menu.
Forty 1° North is internet hosting the Swiss group as official lodging associate.
Saturday is the second-to-last match of the season. The Turkish Airways Finals observe on Sept. 26.
